Ye, we always welcome volunteers from everywhere. You can write an email to lambda@yayyay.events to apply and explain the reasons why you want to be part of our team!

Does Lambda World offer scholarships or free tickets?

Yes, Lambda World is committed to supporting members of underrepresented groups who may not otherwise have the opportunity to attend the event for financial, social, or additional reasons. Our goal for this year is to provide 3 free tickets, a 50% discount to each of these communities and if necessary will try our best to support their accommodation. Registrations

Who can I contact for questions relating to payment/invoices?

You can write to lambda@yayyay.events for any questions and issues related to the payment.

Can I pay for tickets by invoice?

Yes, you can. Just write an email to lambda@yayyay.eventswith your company's billing details. The payment shall be sent by bank transfer to Lambda World's account. Once payment is received, we will issue a discount code to redeem your tickets.

Do you offer discounts for multiple ticket purchases for teams or groups?

Yes, we offer discounts for groups of 4 people minimum and you can see the prices on this page.

Can I get an invitation letter for a visa application or border control?

Yes, after purchasing your ticket you can write an email to lambda@yayyay.events with your full name, nationality, date of birth, and passport number as well as the details of the Embassy or Consulate you will apply for a visa.

If I'm unable to attend Lambda World 2024 in-person, what options do I have?

Once paid, Lambda World tickets are non-refundable unless the event is canceled.

If you can no longer attend Lambda World, you can transfer your ticket for the same conference to another person.

Transfers can be requested for free until Monday, September 2nd, 2024. A fee of 40 EUR applies to transfers requested between Tuesday, September 3rd, 2024, and Friday, September 20th, 2024. The deadline for transfer requests is Friday, September 20th, 2024. You can request a transfer by emailing lambda@yayyay.events stating your full name, email, phone number, and position.

What Is the cancellation and refund policy?

Where will Lambda World be held?

All the conferences and workshops will take place at Palacio de Congresos de Cadiz

What is the address of the venue?

What travel options are there to get to the venue?

There are various ways to get to venue: train, bus, taxi, or road. Many bus lines connect the airport with the city centre of Jerez de la Frontera and the city of Cádiz. More information is available at AENA.

The train station is just off the Plaza de Sevilla with up to 20 trains running daily to and from El Puerto de Santa Maria and Jerez de la Frontera and up to 12 regional lines to and from Seville. There are four long distance trains daily to and from Cordoba and two each for Madrid and Barcelona.

Is there parking available at the venue?

There is no parking areas at the venue but there are several public parkings in the city of Cadiz for attendees who arrive by car.

What accessibility options are available at the venue?

Palacio de Congresos de Cadiz guarantees that both its spaces and the development of the activity are accessible to all people with the adoption of the following measures: adapted signage, reserved spaces in halls, and 100% accessible toilets.

Will there be a cloakroom at the venue?

Yes, you will find a cloakroom at the conference venue where you can leave your luggage and coat while attending the sessions.

Conference Format & Experience

What is the dress code for the conference?

Lambda World doesn't have a formal dress code, though shirts and shoes or sandals are required at all times.

Do I need to bring a laptop?

You won't need your laptop during the conferences, but it can be a requirement to participate in some workshops. During the conference you can make use of our cloakroom to leave your backpack and laptop there.

All about Workshops

All workshops take place on the 2nd and 3rd of October. There are 2 workshop categories: Crema & Canela.

Only general ticket holders (Early Camarón, Standard Tuna and Last Callamar) can access Canela Workshops for free by using the discount code sent together with the ticket order confirmation. Even if you are a general ticket holder, registration is not automatic: you will have to register to the workshop of your choice; we recommend you to book your seat as soon as possible since capacity is limited for each workshop. If you have purchased a ticket and cannot find the code please contact us and we will provide it. Check out the following video tutorial to discover how to register on our webpage. For those who are not conference ticket holders, admission will have an specific fee.

Crema workshops are paid workshops both for ticket holders as well as for the general public. You can check the fee for each workshop in the Workshop page.

How big are the halls?

The conferences will take place in 2 rooms. The main hall has a capacity for 1000 people, whereas the secondary hall has a capacity for 600 people respectively.

Are there limited seating sessions that I need to sign up for?

No previous registration is needed for general talks; registration is only mandatory for workshops. However, if you plan to attend a conference in one of the two secondary halls, we recommend being proactive and coming early to find a free seat.

Is there a Call For Papers?

Yes, there is a call for papers available until the 1st of July 2024. Submit a paper on our Call for Papers.

What are the timings for Lambda World?

Lambda World will take part from Wednesday, October 2nd to Friday, October 4th, 2024.

Every day the first conference starts at 9:00 a.m. and the last conference finishes at around 17:30 p.m.

Onsite registration is open on October 2nd from 8:00 a.m.

What social events & network opportunities does Lambda World offer?

Lambda World offers a variety of non-conference activities to help you connect with other attendees. We will publish them from July 2024.

Food & Beverage

Do you cater to special dietary requirements?

Yes. We cater to many special dietary requirements including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and dairy-free. If you have any dietary requirements outside of the ones mentioned or any questions, you can contact us at lambda@yayyay.events. for any questions and issues related to the payment.

Which meals are included in the general tickets (Early Camaron, Standard Tuna and Last Callamar)?

Lambda World will provide non-stop coffee and lunch onlythe 3rd and 4th of October.

Health & Safety

Do I need to be fully COVID vaccinated to attend the conference?

No, we won't ask you to be fully COVID vaccinated to attend the conferences as there are no mask or vaccination mandates in Spain, but we encourage the attendees to be cautious and responsible for their health and that of others.

Will I need to wear a face mask at the conference?

No, it's not mandatory to wear a face mask at the conference or during the event but you can freely wear it.

What should I do if I see or experience any inappropriate behavior?

If you see, experience, or hear about any behavior of concern, we encourage you to report it to any member of the Lambda Worldlambda@yayyay.events.

At The Conference

How do I ask speakers questions?

We will use Slido to manage questions right after each talk. All badges will have the link and QR code to access our Slido where you can write your questions that our presenters will formulate at the end of each talk.

How can I learn more about the sponsors at Lambda World?

You can visit the website of Lambda World to find information about every sponsor. Once in the venue, you can access our Sponsor Area, talk to them and learn about their products/services & job opportunities.

How should I prepare before the event?

We recommend you to read the presentation abstracts and schedule so you can build your own agenda before you arrive.

We encourage you to keep an eye out for emails from the Lambda World team, Ticket Tailor, and our Newsletter so you won't miss any updates.

Will the sessions be recorded and when will they be available?

All talks will be recorded and published on our Youtube channel a few weeks after the event.

What is Lambda World conference?

Lambda World is an international rendezvous for developers around functional programming. It is a pure technical conference with workshops and technical talks where top speakers will share the latest trends in technologies related to Functional Programming.
